Being with family again
We had a little housewarming with the Moks yesterday nite. It was
really nice being with extended family again. We’ve always been close
but somehow after Ah Ma passed away and all of us moved further away
from each other, we don’t meet up that often anymore. But yet at the
heart of hearts, we’re still very close because we’ve been thru so much
together.
It was a joy to see my parents and my uncles and aunts huddle together
on our couch and crowding around each other. Our house is small and
they are all so used to being in big houses, i wonder how it felt for
them. But for me, it brought back memories in Ah Kong’s place at Lorong
1 Toa Payoh. It was also a 3 room flat. We used to have birthday
parties etc and it just seemed bigger. Maybe coz we’re all so much
smaller then. Duh…
After the little party, the cousins all went to Little Bali and had
drinks. It’s been a while since we’ve hang out together. Even Shan was
back so that was nice. Pity HK was away. But we were missing Kel. Rach
had to go home coz she had school. We had good laughs over Maids &
Tails, SL’s admirers, our disasterous cooking efforts etc…
Thank God for family. Thank you Ah Jiak for bearing the pain of
bringing the vacuum cleaner & the family for asking what we needed,
thank you tua gao & dennis + Jas for the vouchers, thank you mum
for helping out and just being there!, thank you ah pek & ah em for
the lovely set of forks and spoons, just what we needed! thank God i
haven’t bought them yet! thank you rach for getting coke.
