Visits to the Gynae
Our visits to the gynae are becoming more frequent. After the next
visit (21 Aug), we’ll have to see her every week. It kinda then dawned
on me this morning how soon it’ll all be!
We got to see a glimpse of Sophie today. Her lips are still thick,
almost pouty, strangely.
Both Sophie and i are doing great, that’s
what Dr Yang said. Her head is positioned downwards in the right
direction. All the backaches and soreness that i’m experiencing
are all normal as we head towards the last month. Thank God it only
started recently. Some other mothers start much earlier. But i’m
getting heavier and get a bit tired and breathless when i walk.
I’m getting more excited. Not that fearful about the birth and labour
pains anymore. Just excited to see what she looks like and play with
her. People have been telling me that things will be difficult in the
first month esp since we’ve decided to do without the confinement maid
and manage by ourselves. But I’m glad the Jason shared that it was a
great time for him and Sharon to bond in their relationship through the
difficult times. I know it’s not gonna be easy but i believe it’ll be a
nurturing time for both James n I. Time to grow up.
We do appreciate all your prayers and support though… and we’re just
really glad to have a community around us who’ve been showering us with
gifts, prayers, offers of help, car rides, and my fav being the “how’s
sophie?” etc…

You, James and Sophie are going to do just fine ! There’s so much love in your Holy Family that even when it gets tough in the first weeks, you’ll pull through and make your family unit even stronger.
The flat looking pristine is not a priority at all as long as baby’s room is clean. I’m sure yr mum and in-laws and friends will come over and cook every now and then for you. Get a slow cooker and just make good nutritious chicken soup.
You as mama anyway should just concentrate on breastfeeding Sophie, taking care of her and sleeping whenever you can, don’t worry about anything else !!! James can do the rest
