Week 37

From Babycenter:

Only two weeks or so to go! This week, your baby is busy shedding his downy coating of fine hair (called lanugo) and his coat of vernix caseosa — the cheesy substance that protects his developing skin. Your baby swallows both of these secretions, which stay in the bowels until birth. Then your baby will excrete a blackish waste called meconium that becomes his first bowel movement. Meanwhile, you may be feeling huge — and increasingly impatient. But try to get as much rest as possible — even if sleep is difficult, you’ll appreciate it after the birth.

We’re at the last stage already! Can’t believe it’s been almost 9 mths!

My tummy is getting tighter each day and it’s getting harder to sleep properly through the night. So far i’ve been going to the toilet at least once a nite, not so bad. This morning i gave up sleeping on the bed and came out to sit at the sofa with a little pillow on my back and slept for another hour. That was great!

Thank God my hours are quite flexi and i have more free time – i can get home late afternoon, take quick nap and then head out to meet people. Sometimes i work from home if i’m not feeling too energetic. One more week of packing in the office, some other people things to settle and i’ll be on leave!

I’ve also been walking less coz i’m starting to dilate and baby’s head is hanging low. Cecilia said that if i con’t to walk at the pace i’m walking, the baby will arrive sooner! Ok… i’m not that ready yet so this week i’ve been slowing down. No crazy parties or dancing around for a while…

Baby’s been moving around in my tummy a lot today. I think she’s feeling very tight and wants to get out soon. People still do not believe that i’m in my 9th mth. I still look like I’m in my second trimester. Oh wells!

But i must say this pregnancy has been a really really great experience and i love it! I really thank God that i didn’t have much problems throughout and it’s still quite comfortable.  Each time when it was difficult, we learnt to pray coz the Lord listens and the pain/discomfort/fear eases.

Counting down…
