Recent conversation at Funan
Frustrated with the extremely buggy and short range 2-wire modem that Singtel had provided, James went around Funan looking for a wireless modem. The shop Uncle started taking out different modems for him to see, even some Japanese ones that can’t be found in Challenger.
Suddenly the Uncle looked up excitedly with a grin on his face and said
Uncle: Eh i got this very long range outlaw one, you interested?
James, very excited, but whispered: Huh? Outlaw? Wah, illegal one is it, Uncle? (Thinking that it’s some homemade modem that can receive secret bandwidth or sth)
Uncle: No lah! Outlaw! Can put outside your house, waterproof one somemore..
