Grandmother stories and more
Looks like Sophie’s a bit underweight like I’ve always been and she doesn’t like milk very much. Just like me.
We went to the PD today for a routine check cum Rotovirus immunisation (oral). We have been really concerned about Sophie’s weight and her neck problem. Sophie has not been feeding very well so her weight has kinda stagnated at 5.6kg when she shd be about 6plus kg already.
Our PD who is a grandmother (she is super grandmotherish) advised us to try to give Sophie a spoonful of cereal mixed into her milk daily and see how it goes. And also to give her vitamins to help increase her appetite. Actually she gave us the vitamins long time ago but we’ve not been giving them to Sophie coz she kept spitting it out! So….. doc says we can mix it with a bit of Ribena! I got really excited at this point thinking how she’ll react to my fav drink!
She told us this real story about how this baby who didn’t want to drink and mum got so frustrated. One day they were eating durian and they decided to play punk and added a bit of durian into the milk and the baby lived happily ever after drinking durian flavoured milk!!!
?!?!?
Oh and about her neck, doc says not to worry, told us another story about a baby. At eight mths the baby still couldn’t hold his head steady, developed quite slowly throughout……………. NOW, got a scholarship to go into RI. HA! There you go! Not that i want Sophie to go to RI. But… that really put us at ease.
So thank you God for grandmother stories.
Anyways… we’ll see how it goes. Will update on Sophie’s diet and motor skills adventures. Heh.
OH YES, one more report. Sophie can CHUCKLE! SOOOOOOOOO CUUUUUUUUTTTTTTE!!!!!!!!! It’s a really sweet soft chuckle. Aiyo… melts my heart… this seriously makes up for ALL the CRYING which btw she’s doing less.
THANK GOD. Looks like it’s going to be a great year! PRaise GoD!
