Sophie’s Journal
What Sophie has been up to recently…
1. She’s discovered how to shout and scream. Not in a naughty way but she’s just stretching her vocal range and it’s super funny! Not so funny to the other shoppers at HarbourFront BIG but super funny to me coz she keeps doing it.
2. She’s also been pulling up to stand. Not quite on her own yet but I’ll let her pull up from a lying down position to sitting up and then she’ll pull herself up to stand. So cool! She loves it!
3. She smiles at almost everyone she meets. Everyone. Even those that don’t smile back. She’ll keep trying to catch their attention. Esp in the lift. She’ll keep staring at them until they smile back. Hmmm… wonder if other babies do that?
4. She’s finally more willing to let other people carry her and my dad has been doing an awesome job carrying her and putting her to sleep. He’s done it twice already and he loves doing it. I’m so proud of him!
5. She loves to play games. We’ve been playing "where’s sophie?" and pretending that we can’t see her. She used to just wait quietly for us to see her and smile but now, she’ll keep shouting and trying to get our attention and when we see her, she’ll flash her megawatt smile! This is the best game to play when she’s on the changing mat and getting fussy.
6. Oh yes….. now she can show her dislike quite obviously. She doesn’t like being strapped on the hair chair and she doesn’t like lying down on the changing mat anymore. If you take away her toy she can protest. The most obvious protest is when we take her out of the bath, she hates that. But i’ve found a way round that. Now i let her play for a long time in the water and then warn her before i take her out and play with her as I take her out. That normally works.

It’s so nice that you cherish your dad. I remember my dad doing that also for Luke, sure miss him !
He now even shouts at people ‘HEY’ so that they notice him, in case they haven’t. He especially loves smiling at people and getting their attention when we are queeuing up to pay etc. Today at the mall he played peekaboo with a total stranger, whilst he was standing in the trolley !
Point 3 sounds like Luke

STeph: Yah… i do more and more as we are spending a lot more time together because of Sophie. Sophie is exactly like Luke in that aspect. It’s super funny…
She’s particularly smiley to the neighbours she knows.
