Short Getaway To Batam
We took a short trip to Batam from Thurs to Sat last week. It was a last minute thingy – we confirmed the hotel and ferry bookings the day before. We were toying with a few other ideas – Bali, Phuket, Malaysia etc… But we decided on Batam coz it was nicely within our budget.
We are quite accustomed to just packing and going on our own BUT with a little one, it took a bit more planning. It wasn’t too difficult tho. The only difficult part was the food for Sophie. I packed bread, cheese, a couple of jar food, instant brown rice mix (Nestle), mineral water, lotsa biscuits for Sophie and snacks for us.
It was Sophie’s first time on a ferry on a long distance. It took about 45 mins. She took one in Australia but it was a short distance. She did pretty alright. First 15 mins, she was in her pram and pretty much entertained herself with her surroundings – any new is amazing to Sophie. The next 1/2 hr, Daddy entertained her with her favorite Elmo video on his iPod video.
