MTR to Disneyland Resort Line

Our trip to Disneyland deserves a post on its own!!!!!! IT WAS THE BEST!!!

We left Hong Kong Station at about 1.30pm, changed train to the Disneyland Resort Line (yes it’s got it’s own line!) and arrived about 2pm.

When we saw the train, the little kid in me just came out!!!!!!! The train’s got Mickey face for windows and handles! I was so EXCITED AND EXHILARATED! Aiyo so embarrassing! Couldn’t stop smiling.

When we got there, first thing we did was to queue up to take photos with Mickey and Minnie (I mean, most would take pictures at the main entrance with the Mickey grass patch thingy – what do you call it? But James was like let’s do that after coz it was too crowded). Seriously, I’m really the last person to do this queuing up to take pictures with characters thing BUT we were at Disneyland! James was like let’s just do it! And it turned out to be the best decision ever coz till now Sophie is still talking about Minnie Mouse (whom she affectionately calls kinie mouse) playing peekaboo with her. Yes, Minnie Mouse played peekaboo with her and made her laugh!

Oooo forgot to say, actually first thing I did (kiasu me) was to take the show times pamphlet and highlighted ALL the shows and timings and rank them in order so that we would not miss any! Yes.

Next we attacked the It’s A Small World ride. I was in Disneyland LA when I was six and i cannot forget that ride and the song coz it just went on and on!!!!!!! A bit giddy after. Sophie loved it coz it was her first time on a boat ride like this.

We went on a couple of other rides. She got a bit scared on the Winnie the Pooh ride coz it went dark a couple of times. The Buzz Lightyear ride was SUPER FUNNY – you get a gun to shoot stuff. Ooo Sophie didn’t like that. Too noisy for her BUT………………. James went WILD! Hahaha…. I held her while he played. Hahaha. So I had lesser points. Humph!

She loved the Lion King musical. She didn’t flinch one bit during the entire 1/2 hr show! Even at bits where I thought was scary – when Simba’s enemy came on and when the lights went off.

The parade was pretty enjoyable too. She was totally engrossed and started bobbing to the music. I actually caught it on tape.

All in all, it was great fun!!!!!!! We ended off with dinner and bit of shopping. Sophie had yummy tomato rice wrapped in an egg omelette and sweet corn on the side. She loved it! She ate on her own while we had our dinner.

Of course, we had to bring home some souvenirs – Sophie got her own Minnie Mouse soft toy (sleeps with her now) and we got a little castle display item.

As soon as we left, Sophie fell asleep on James shoulders.
