Rainbows and Learning Colours

I’m on a roll again. Finally got my act together and started crafting and learning with Sophie again!

This week our topic is rainbows.

I took the opportunity to teach her about colours too, of course! She’s finally getting her colours. So far she’s pretty confident with blue, red and yellow. Sometimes she gets orange, green and purple right.

Using whatever I already had, we made rainbows using coloured pipe cleaners! We were missing a violet but it’s as good as it gets! We also used the coloured ice cream sticks (super cheap for a bundle at Popular, great for craft and learning colours) to play a sorting game to emphasize on the colours. It so happened that it had all 6 colours too (no violet).

We attempted some potato printing. Supposed to print rainbows but it didn’t quite turn out like that! Sophie preferred to print her hands. Oh wells! :)

We read two books – Noah’s Ark and The Rainbow Fish. We also learnt the Rainbow song from Super Strong God CD.

Thank God I prepared a few things for us to do today coz it turned out, Sophie was having a cough and was running a slight fever in the morning. And of course, it’s been raining.
